Los Espookys (2019)

A group of friends turn their love of horror effects into a business supplying fabricated scares. Their mostly Spanish-language world treats a peculiar request or supernatural interruption with wonderfully ordinary practical concern. The connection is the ensemble's shared comic logic: an absurd plan becomes reasonable once enough friends agree to it. HBO cancelled the series after two seasons, but its individual jobs supply plenty of distinctive, self-contained pleasures.
