Dark City (1998)
Movie
Released
Perpetual night makes a city of familiar architectural fragments feel like a place you almost remember. Rain and artificial light keep surfaces legible while the larger map slips away. The director's cut delays an explanation supplied early in the theatrical version, a useful choice if you prefer discovering the rules alongside the protagonist.
