You begin as a Fatebinder, an official working for the power that has already conquered much of the world. Judgements and allegiances make authority something you exercise, not simply a villain to overthrow. Your history and choices influence how factions receive you, leaving room for calculation, conviction and compromise. Party combat remains substantial. The unusual pleasure is interpreting a compromised office without assuming every decision has an uncomplicated heroic answer.
