American Animals (2018)

Four young men approach a rare-book robbery as though borrowing the confidence of heist films will make them capable of carrying it out. The gap between imagined efficiency and an actual person's resistance is the point. Its reconstruction keeps questioning their self-mythology, so the unravelling is a critique of the fantasy that makes the plan attractive.
