Counterpart (2017)

A minor employee at a Berlin agency discovers that its compartmentalised bureaucracy conceals a crossing between parallel worlds. J. K. Simmons makes the discovery personal by playing two versions of the same man, whose differences reveal what their institutions have made of them. This is the less obvious pick for Silo viewers drawn to clearance levels, sealed doors and leaders who ration the truth. It was cancelled after two seasons; the Berlin chapter closes, with a wider future left open.
