Severance (2022)
8.6/10on IMDb
First aired
Lumon's office has its own rituals, forbidden spaces and management-approved version of reality. Workers whose memories are divided between home and employment gradually question what they have been told. That makes this the closest next step if Juliette's refusal to accept the rules was your favourite part of Silo. The sterile corridors are as oppressive as the silo's stairways, with more absurd workplace humour and the same pleasure of noticing a detail that should not be there.

Silo's vertical class system becomes a line of train carriages: the privileged live comfortably at the front while others keep a fragile survival machine running. A murder investigation lets the series move through those divisions before the struggle over who deserves power takes centre stage. Choose the 2020 television series for its politics, maintenance problems and contested leadership. It is more openly melodramatic than Silo, and its four-season run reaches an ending.

Sterling K. Brown plays a security agent investigating a killing inside an exceptionally protected community. The interesting question soon becomes who controls the information he needs, and what the people at the top are trying to preserve. It shares Silo's habit of turning a local investigation into a challenge to the whole social order, while giving more space to family grief and political melodrama. Start with the 2025 series and avoid detailed plot summaries: the opening is built to change your assumptions.

The vaults offer a familiar bargain: obey the rules and trust that the people running your shelter know best. Following an optimistic vault dweller into the wasteland lets the show test that promise against a world her upbringing has not prepared her for. The connection to Silo is strongest in the engineered communities and reassuring official stories. Expect a much rowdier mixture of grotesque violence, retro advertising and black comedy. No knowledge of the games is needed.

Counterpart (2017)
8.0/10on IMDb
First aired
A minor employee at a Berlin agency discovers that its compartmentalised bureaucracy conceals a crossing between parallel worlds. J. K. Simmons makes the discovery personal by playing two versions of the same man, whose differences reveal what their institutions have made of them. This is the less obvious pick for Silo viewers drawn to clearance levels, sealed doors and leaders who ration the truth. It was cancelled after two seasons; the Berlin chapter closes, with a wider future left open.

Who gets to live somewhere safe, and who gets to decide that they deserve it? This Brazilian series makes those questions into a ruthless selection process, offering a small minority an escape from poverty to the privileged Offshore. Tests of supposed merit expose how easily a system can dress self-preservation as fairness. It is a strong match for the class politics beneath Silo's survival story, with more emphasis on young competitors and resistance movements. Primarily in Portuguese, with four completed seasons.

FROM (2022)
7.8/10on IMDb
First aired
A town that nobody can leave needs working rules even though its residents cannot explain the place they are trapped in. Harold Perrineau's exhausted community leader has to balance keeping people alive with their growing demand for answers. That pressure should feel familiar after Silo, especially when competing theories begin to damage trust. This is the horror-heavy route: the nightly threat is brutal and explicit, and the larger mystery is still ongoing.

The City and the City (2018)
6.4/10on IMDb

The barrier here is a learned act of perception: residents of two overlapping cities must refuse to acknowledge the other city's people and streets. A murder forces David Morrissey's detective to navigate that rule and the authority enforcing it. For Silo fans, the reward is seeing a seemingly impossible social arrangement made ordinary through habit, fear and paperwork. The 2018 four-part adaptation is a compact, unusual choice if you liked the question of what a population can be trained not to notice.

Dark (2017)
8.7/10on IMDb
First aired
A missing child exposes connections between four families in a German town, then keeps enlarging the meaning of their shared history. Where Silo makes you distrust the account of how a society began, Dark makes almost every family story worth re-examining. The intricate relationships and chronology demand considerably more concentration, but the three-season story is complete. Choose it for carefully planted clues and revelations that change earlier scenes. Watch in German with subtitles if you can.

Devs (2020)
7.6/10on IMDb
First aired
A software engineer investigates a secretive division of the technology company where she works after her boyfriend's death. Alex Garland makes the immaculate campus and its protected inner building feel like a place where access itself is power. This fits the Silo viewer who wants to follow an outsider towards the idea an institution is built around. The mystery develops into a quiet, unsettling argument about choice and certainty. It is a complete limited series, with a slower, more philosophical rhythm.
