Watch Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, then The World's End. The Cornetto trilogy is a thematic grouping with returning collaborators, not one continuous plot. Each uses a different genre to test friendship and avoidance, and the final film's more bruised mood gives the weekend a useful change of pace. Their brisk comic construction rewards watching for repeated habits rather than literal continuity.

About Shaun of the Dead
Shaun lives a supremely uneventful life, which revolves around his girlfriend, his mother, and, above all, his local pub. This gentle routine is threatened when the dead return to life and make strenuous attempts to snack on ordinary Londoners.
