Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)
Movie
Released
Watch Rise, Dawn, then War for the Planet of the Apes. This is Caesar's three-film stretch within a longer franchise, followed by Kingdom in 2024. Andy Serkis's evolving physical and emotional performance makes the escalation feel personal. The tonal darkening is substantial, so give the last film a separate sitting rather than expecting three identical adventure moods.
