Reaction Speed slows elements that demand a quick response, while Player Health separately changes how many hits you can take. Those settings can be revisited, and an optional boss-skip command is available from the pause menu when enabled. Keeping the encounters but slowing them is a useful middle ground. Painting, exploring and helping the townsfolk remain the heart of the adventure whichever combat arrangement you choose.
