Assist Mode independently lowers enemy attack frequency, reduces incoming damage and slows timed puzzle elements. If you enjoy the elaborate dungeon logic but cannot execute a solution quickly enough, change puzzle speed while leaving combat alone. The settings can be revised during the same playthrough without closing off the story. Lea's elemental toolkit and the job of understanding a room remain intact.
