Tokyo Godfathers (2003)
Movie
Released
An abandoned baby on Christmas Eve sends three homeless companions through Tokyo's accidents, reunions and improbable coincidences. The season's promise of shelter and renewed connection matters because these characters are usually left outside it. Satoshi Kon's animated adventure is funny, frantic and capable of sudden tenderness. Choose it for a Christmas miracle with argumentative adults at its centre, rather than an uncomplicated children's fable.
