The Silent Partner (1978)
Movie
Released
A bank clerk spots a robbery coming and quietly creates a second crime inside the first. The robber's mall-Santa disguise makes Christmas's commercial bustle a particularly useful cover. Elliott Gould's reserve and Christopher Plummer's menace turn the aftermath into a sharp contest of nerve. This is the older thriller option for a grown-up seasonal double bill, with cruelty and brutal violence that go well beyond a cheeky holiday caper.
