PC: Sound Subtitles describe important gameplay noises with pointers for direction and distance. That makes gunfire and other off-screen events easier to interpret without relying only on stereo sound. The hearing preset is a useful start, but these selected event captions are separate from ordinary dialogue subtitles and are not a complete acoustic map.
