Yakuza 0: Director's Cut (2025)

Early crime-story exposition can hide the contrast that makes this action adventure special: serious melodrama sharing a city with ridiculous, generous side stories. Kiryu's Chapter 2 substories and the switch to Majima in Chapter 3 give a more representative sample. The Director's Cut is the current edition here. If the problem is the amount of dialogue or repeated street fighting, those remain substantial parts of the experience.
