Thimbleweed Park (2017)

Five playable characters include people with very different social standing and a ghost with a different relationship to the physical world. Availability changes with the story, but the character selector lets you move among the current threads and coordinate tasks. The developers deliberately avoided Maniac Mansion's deaths and dead ends. Start on Casual for a shorter chain of obstacles, or Hard for the fuller puzzle structure.
