Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
Movie
Released
Familiar people's almost-correct behaviour makes an ordinary San Francisco network feel newly hostile. Philip Kaufman uses crowds, workplace exchanges and glimpsed background activity to erode certainty. The science-fiction premise translates paranoia into an immediate social experience, without requiring one fixed political allegory to explain every detail.
