Robert Zemeckis's 2022 Disney remake adds photoreal detail and new material, yet the 1940 original's drawn transformations make temptation and fear more visually forceful. Its musical movement has a clarity the expanded version struggles to match for me. This comparison is with the Disney remake, distinct from Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson's separate stop-motion adaptation.
