Kristen Stewart's attentive, lightly impatient assistant controls scenes through timing and the refusal to over-explain a reaction. The change from a franchise-centred public image is clearest in how comfortable she is letting another performer take the obvious dramatic space. Her César recognition marked that perception, alongside independent work already under way.
