The Substance (2024)
Movie
Released
Demi Moore lets professional control and private scrutiny become visibly tiring before the body horror expands them. The role brings an established star image into a story about being judged through that image. Its reception renewed attention to her acting, without making earlier dramatic work disappear or reducing the performance to bravery about appearance.
