The stage robberies make a brisk invitation to enjoy misdirection, but revealing the pursuing FBI agent as the hidden organiser changes the terms too abruptly. Dylan's concealed motive can explain his scheme; it less comfortably explains behaviour staged mainly to preserve the audience's ignorance. The final trick depends more on control of the camera's information than on satisfying use of the clues.
