10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)

Michelle's resourcefulness and the bunker performances make uncertainty about Howard's account intensely gripping. The alien battle outside is coherent with the story, but its action-hero rhythm feels less particular than the ordeal that precedes it. I admire her escape and still miss the pressure of a survival problem whose most dangerous component was another person's control.
