Nora's encounter with a childhood friend gives an unlived version of her life a vivid human presence. The ending allows grief for that possibility without declaring her actual relationships a mistake. Its quiet ache is valuable because choosing a life does not make every alternative stop mattering; the film finds tenderness in living with that limit.
