The teenage experiments with telekinesis begin as pranks and filmed self-display, making the escalation of power disturbingly recognisable. Andrew's experience of abuse gives the fantasy a volatile emotional centre without making his later choices inevitable or excusable. The result is a compact, abrasive account of what extraordinary ability fails to fix, with the camera itself becoming part of the need for control.
