Astebreed (2013)

The updated PC Definitive Edition puts a young pilot and an altered girl's intertwined story at the centre of a compact mecha adventure. Shooting, target-locking and sword attacks carry you through changing perspectives, while added episodes and scenes expand the character framing. It is a good choice when you want to follow a dramatic sequence rather than farm equipment until the numbers rise. The Japanese dialogue continues during action, with English text to read, so expect attention to be split when the battle becomes busy.
