Drainus (2022)

Irina steals an imperial fighter to save her father, and recurring characters make the flight a personal journey as well as a succession of bosses. Absorbed energy fills tanks you can spend on ship functions and new weapons, connecting the central combat tool to the next upgrade choice. It is a focused story-led shooter rather than a large loot campaign. Choose it when you want a clear reason to keep travelling without committing to Drifting Lands' equipment farming; its later challenges still reward learning the stages.
