The Lost Daughter (2021)
Movie

Leda's response to another mother exposes feelings she cannot fit into a reassuring account of parenthood. The closing connection leaves room to argue about responsibility, relief and what an admission actually repairs. Maggie Gyllenhaal has offered her own reading of the ending; the richer conversation also asks how its ordinary gestures carry the weight of everything Leda has withheld.
