Full Metal Furies (2018)

Four-player local or online co-op gives each friend a different job: Triss shields, Alex fights up close, Meg snipes and lays mines, and Erin deploys turrets. Coloured enemy barriers make the corresponding class essential, so covering a teammate while they get into position has a concrete purpose. Shared rewards and no friendly fire keep attention on the group. This is an action RPG with equipment and skill progression, rather than a short arcade credit run.
