That simple choice changes how a leap into a boss's firing line feels, especially once you mix the weapon types. Try the two styles on Easy before settling on one. Use the Mega Drive game in a supported release or an already-owned collection, with suspend tools where available. Its original stage-and-continue rhythm is less accommodating than Bleed 2's repeated checkpoint attempts.
