Okja (2017)

Mija knows the enormous animal through habits, games and shared life, while a corporation knows her through the value of a product. Bong Joon-ho keeps those incompatible views in contact as the rescue journey moves into a much harsher industrial world. The creature's convincing personality makes the argument more immediate than a speech about consumption. Choose it for unruly satire with a real emotional attachment, with distressing animal exploitation that goes far beyond a cuddly adventure.
