Moving a spaceship out of a firing line makes each card decision feel tangible. Crew members bring different cards, and later runs unlock more characters, ships and story memories without retroactively increasing an old character's base strength. That makes changing the team a new problem to solve rather than the next rung of a health ladder. The story deliberately unfolds over repeated successful loops, so one run is not the whole narrative. Pick it for useful variety between attempts and a compact tactical language.
