African Footballers Who Excelled Outside Europe's Biggest Leagues

African footballers have built important club careers across Africa, Asia and the Americas. This selection follows those achievements on their own terms: continental titles, domestic championships, sustained scoring and the less glamorous work that makes a winning side function. Every highlighted spell is outside Europe. Some players also had European careers; their inclusion rests on the club record described here. Start with the continental winners, then follow the scoring stories into the Gulf, China, Mexico and the United States. This is a set of routes into different football cultures, not a ranking of leagues.
