Synth-Pop Albums for People Who Love a Strong Melody

For listeners who love a tune they can carry away, these records put melody at the centre of electronic pop. The attraction varies: Erasure offer vocal drama, Shura makes room for uncertainty, and The Blue Nile lets a phrase unfold slowly. Older records sit beside newer work, including Nation of Language and Paycheque, without treating either age or obscurity as a recommendation in itself. Each entry names a track that makes its case. Begin with CHVRCHES or a-ha for immediate lift, Pet Shop Boys for warmth and reflection, or Georgia and Robyn when you want the rhythm to lead. Some choices stretch towards art-pop, house or guitar music; their electronic textures still serve recognisable songs. This is a browsing shelf, not a ranking, and quieter melodies have as much room as big choruses.
