Thelma & Louise (1991)
Movie

The space opening around the car makes the friendship feel exhilarating before the scale of the danger fully registers. Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon give the journey a shared rhythm: relief, argument, laughter and decisions made together. Choose it for companionship that changes what freedom might mean. Ridley Scott and writer Callie Khouri also make that freedom painfully constrained by male violence and the law, so this is a fierce fugitive story rather than a carefree weekend fantasy.
