Windjammers 2 (2022)
5.6/10on IGDB
Released
Two players defend opposite goal zones while curves, lobs, slapshots and smashes change the shape of a rally. Recovering your position after a throw matters as much as spotting a scoring angle. The updated training lessons and custom practice course give both players a useful starting point before a local duel. Online play includes full crossplay, private lobbies and spectating, which helps when arranging a match across platforms. It uses ordinary controls rather than motion hardware. Choose it for a compact, readable contest with a fighting game's depth beneath the immediate premise.

Disc Jam (2017)
7.3/10on IGDB
Released
Singles and doubles turn the court into a mixture of tennis positioning and air-hockey angles, with catches and quick returns keeping everyone involved. Local play supports two to four, making doubles the main reason to choose it over a strictly head-to-head game. For PC online play, the developer restored player-hosted servers after the original backend closed. Seasons, online statistics and the old prize-machine progression did not return with them. Organise opponents rather than buying for a ranked grind, and treat console online services separately from that PC update.

True Disc Golf (2023)
Released
The current PC release offers one-to-four-player local rounds as well as cross-platform online play. That makes it a practical choice for a group who want to compare shot selection on one screen. Nose angle, release speed, wind, skips and rollers give the flight model more to explore than pointing directly at a basket. Start with a short practice round before eighteen holes. A controller or mouse and keyboard is enough for ordinary play; the physical throwing-sensor modes are separate paid add-ons, rather than required equipment for the base game.

Windjammers (1994)
8.7/10on IGDB
Released
The original is still worth choosing for its concise two-player duel and distinctive character trade-offs. A fast opponent can cover a different amount of court from a heavy thrower, while a banked shot or lob asks the defender to move before the next catch. Dotemu's console version includes local versus and solo arcade play, using normal controllers. Its older online modes are a bonus rather than a reason to expect immediate strangers to join. Pick this when you want to learn the foundational game before adding the sequel's larger set of moves.

Disc Space (2020)
Released
For something closer to team ultimate, this free PC game supports three-a-side, four-a-side and five-a-side online matches. Handler, cutter and other specialisations give movement away from the disc a purpose: creating a passing option can matter more than making the most ambitious throw. Use computer opponents to practise the controls, then arrange a human match to explore team coordination. Bring an organised group if a full match is the plan. This is online team play with separate machines, rather than a shared-screen alternative to Windjammers.

Disc Golf Masters (2026)
Released
This PC game entered Early Access in June 2026, with licensed discs, shot shaping and online rounds for up to four. Compare a safe landing area with an ambitious line through trees, then watch how release angle and wind alter the result. Arrange a lobby with friends; its announced console plans should not be mistaken for released console versions. A later update added Steam Offline mode and a simple solo round with selectable wind, bag and course, but offline play does not earn progression. Choose it if an evolving simulation appeals, accepting unfinished features and further changes.

Disc Golf Valley (2018)
Released
The mobile version is a convenient way to compare lines and scores without a motion-controller setup. Different disc characteristics, wind and terrain turn a short hole into a choice between a reliable placement and a risky direct attempt. Course challenges and practice support solo learning, while online competition and friend play provide the social side. Expect account-based progression and optional purchases rather than one shared television match. The separate VR game uses a different throwing interface, so choose this for screen-based aiming and a round that can fit around the rest of an evening.

Disc Golf Valley VR (2021)
Released
For motion-controlled throwing, choose the current Quest edition, released in January 2026. The older SteamVR edition has a separate feature set and support history. Touch controllers turn the throw into a tracked hand movement, with solo play, friend challenges and online events. Each online player needs their own compatible headset, and the store lists an internet requirement. Additional map content can cost extra. Choose it for practising release timing in a virtual course, while recognising that controller tracking and a real disc's weight make this a different activity from outdoor play.

Off the Chains Disc Golf (2020)
Released
This SteamVR option gives a group with PC VR equipment private and public online lobbies, alongside solo course play. Its discs use the familiar speed, glide, turn and fade ratings, giving you a language for comparing a straight approach with a shaping shot. DiscBot introduces the game; plan on solo course challenges or human rivals for the evening. Use the available courses for an arranged round with friends, and allow space for tracked-controller throws. It asks substantially more hardware preparation than a local controller-based match.

Sports Champions (2010)
7.0/10on IGDB
Released
If the PS3 equipment is already available, its disc-golf event remains an interesting motion-controlled alternative. Choose a flight path, shape the release and take turns comparing approaches, with one-to-four-player play and computer opposition for solo sessions. The required setup is a PS3, PlayStation Move controller and PlayStation Eye camera. The throwing freedom is the attraction, rather than an enormous simulation of disc brands. Treat it as a reason to revisit a complete existing setup before buying legacy accessories just for one event.

Wii Sports Resort (2009)
7.9/10on IGDB
Released
Play Frisbee Dog once to unlock Frisbee Golf, then take a one-to-four-player round towards its glowing targets. Players can share a single Wii Remote, so it works as a relaxed turn-taking contest rather than requiring four motion controllers. You need MotionPlus support, either through the accessory or a Wii Remote Plus. Three disc types and release angle offer useful choices without reproducing a full modern disc-golf bag. It is the Wii game being recommended here, with its own hardware and disc modes, rather than assuming a newer Sports collection includes the same activities.

DiscStorm (2015)
Released
The deliberate disc-combat diversion here replaces a sports court with an arena full of ricochets, dodges and deflections. Local multiplayer and computer-controlled opponents let you organise a match without depending on a public service, while custom rules and modes such as Regicide change what positioning is for. A controller is strongly recommended. It is a more chaotic, combat-focused choice than the goal-scoring games above, but reading a returning disc and deciding whether to attack or evade still gives the contest its shape. Start with simple rules before adding the busiest variations.
