Oblivion (2013)

Movie
Oblivion
7.0/10on IMDbReleased
Anthony Gonzalez of M83 and Joseph Trapanese build a score with an expansive emotional horizon. StarWaves carries a slow-blooming yearning, while the title song's Susanne Sundfør vocal makes the ending feel enormous even away from the screen. The film's sleek design is attractive, but its accumulated science-fiction revelations are less distinctive than the music's sense of loss and possibility. Choose the original score album for that sustained atmosphere, with both composers credited rather than treating it as a solo M83 side project.
