PJ Harvey's Naked Cousin and Deftones' Teething give this sequel's compilation a fierce character of its own; Hole's Gold Dust Woman supplies a different kind of shadow. The range keeps the record from feeling like one long imitation of the original Crow's mood. The revenge film is more constrained by the formula it inherits. Choose the 1996 song collection for its rough edges and strong individual performances, keeping it separate from Graeme Revell's score and the much more famous 1994 soundtrack.
