Filter and the Crystal Method's (Can't You) Trip Like I Do announces the record's best idea: let artists change one another's sound. Orbital and Kirk Hammett's Satan pushes that collision further than a conventional collection of licensed rock songs. The film's grotesque visual experiments have their own appeal, but the album makes a more sustained adventure out of combining incompatible textures. Pick Spawn: The Album for an unruly meeting of guitars and electronics, rather than expecting the score or a tidy genre playlist.
