The Secret Agent (2025)
Movie
Released
In 1977 Recife, Carnival crowds, rented rooms and cinema work offer Marcelo both cover and exposure. Kleber Mendonça Filho makes refuge depend on a network of people whose local knowledge is never evenly shared. The 2025 film's suspense grows from that uneasy infrastructure of protection. It is violent and expansive, with memory and urban legend complicating any promise of a clean historical reconstruction.
