Collateral (2004)

Los Angeles becomes a network of paid journeys in Max's taxi, where knowing the streets is both a skill and an obligation. Michael Mann's night views make office towers and largely deserted roads feel connected by work. Jamie Foxx's alert driving gives that geography a human cost: an efficient route is not necessarily a route he wants to take.
