The Witch (2016)
Movie
Released
A banished Puritan family tries to make a home beside a New England forest, carrying its fears across the Atlantic. Household work, failed crops and accusations turn belief into something that governs every meal and glance. Robert Eggers makes the family's language and rigid hierarchy central to the pressure; the horror grows from a specific religious world, with a daughter bearing much of its suspicion.
