Anderton's old eyes remain useful for restricted access even after the system knows he is a fugitive; the later prison access makes the lapse especially convenient. Human failure could explain it, so this is a security blind spot rather than a mathematical impossibility. It is also oddly apt in a thriller about overconfidence in surveillance. The eye-scanning world remains vivid because its intrusions feel irritatingly ordinary as well as sinister.
