Taste of Cherry (1997)
Movie
Released
A man drives the hills outside Tehran seeking help with a planned suicide, and extended conversations turn the car into a space for listening. Kiarostami lets stretches of landscape and silence interrupt the apparent task, giving each passenger's response time to register. The withheld background and ambiguous finish resist a neat explanation. This is compassionate but emotionally demanding viewing, useful when you want slowness to sharpen attention to another person's dilemma.
