Rosemary's Baby (1968)
Movie
Released
A helpful neighbour, an unsolicited drink and a conversation held just beyond a doorway gradually erode Rosemary's control over her pregnancy. The menace arrives through people who insist they know what is best for her, making everyday politeness feel invasive. Its disturbing dream imagery and sexual violation are far from mild viewing. The patient construction still feels immediate because each apparently small concession leaves her with less authority over her own life.
