Cliffhanger (1993)

Simon Crane's transfer between two flying aircraft gives this mountain-rescue thriller a remarkable practical detour into the sky. The wide view lets you register an actual body negotiating the space between the planes. Renny Harlin surrounds such work with constructed environments and effects, so the whole film should not be mistaken for uninterrupted location climbing. Choose it for the contrast between spectacular exposure and a wonderfully blunt siege-adventure plot.
