The Hills Have Eyes (2006)

Wes Craven's 1977 film has rawness the remake cannot manufacture. Alexandre Aja's 2006 version offers a different, grimly persuasive advantage: the abandoned nuclear-test settlement gives the family nightmare a concrete landscape of domestic life made poisonous. Aaron Stanford's initially unimposing survivor makes physical resistance feel costly. This is an exceptionally brutal preference, involving sexual assault and harm to family members, suited to viewers choosing sustained ordeal rather than a casual creature feature.

About The Hills Have Eyes
Based on Wes Craven's 1977 suspenseful cult classic, The Hills Have Eyes is the story of a family road trip that goes terrifyingly awry when the travelers become stranded in a government atomic zone. Miles from nowhere, the Carter family soon realizes the seemingly uninhabited wasteland is actually the breeding ground of a blood-thirsty mutant family...and they are the prey.
