The Crazies (2010)
Movie
Released
Romero's 1973 film divides its attention between a poisoned town and the authorities attempting control. The 2010 remake keeps you closer to a sheriff, his wife and their dwindling circle, making containment feel like an immediate problem of whom to trust. Timothy Olyphant's dry practicality gives the escape a steady human centre. It loses some of the original's institutional sprawl, but gains a cleaner, nastier survival rhythm and set pieces built from ordinary small-town machinery.
