Waterworld (1995)
Movie
Released
The floating communities and improvised machinery give the ocean setting a more substantial presence than the infamous production story suggests. Watch the boat handling and the uneasy business of exchanging scarce goods. The villainy is broad and the pacing uneven, but the physical world offers a worthwhile adventure for anyone who likes to see how a speculative society might actually move around.

About Waterworld
In a futuristic world where the polar ice caps have melted and made Earth a liquid planet, a beautiful barmaid rescues a mutant seafarer from a floating island prison. They escape, along with her young charge, Enola, and sail off aboard his ship. But the trio soon becomes the target of a menacing pirate who covets the map to 'Dryland'—which is tattooed on Enola's back.
