Evolution (2016)
Movie
Released
An island of women and young boys has routines whose purpose the children cannot safely assume they understand. Lucile Hadžihalilović makes water, pale buildings and medical spaces feel beautiful and deeply wrong together. The body horror arrives through uncertainty about care and development. Choose the 2015 French dark fantasy for slow, dreamlike unease, rather than the unrelated American comedy of the same title.
