Much of the tension fits inside a Hong Kong hotel room as Edward Snowden speaks with Laura Poitras and journalists about the documents he is disclosing. Waiting, explaining and deciding what to do next become dramatic actions. Knowing the subsequent headlines does little to remove the pressure of watching those decisions being made. An unusually concentrated choice if you value close access and uneasy waiting over a brisk historical summary.
