Games That Are Better Without Chasing Every Achievement

I enjoy a good optional challenge. I enjoy it less when a badge tells me to keep doing something I have stopped liking. These games have strong experiences worth following on their own terms, with specific achievement targets that can change the pace, impose an unusual play style or become a second hobby. The examples use PC Steam requirements and name the relevant edition. Keep the side stories, experiments and difficult challenges you enjoy; a complete achievement page is a separate goal from a satisfying playthrough.
